  • The multifunctional meter of electrical installation parameters Sonel MPI-540-PV is an advanced tool designed in particular for measuring the parameters of photovoltaic installations. With the help of one device, it is possible to perform a whole series of tests on the DC and AC side in accordance with the guidelines of PN-EN 62446. In addition, Sonel MPI-540-PV is also used to carry out all measurements to determine the safety status of home and industrial electrical installations. The presented meter is a device with advanced capabilities, dedicated to specialists operating in the installation and electrical industry.

When measuring the parameters of a photovoltaic installation, the meter automatically recalculates the parameters to the STC (Standard Test Conditions) reference conditions. Measurements of voltage, current and power on the AC and DC sides of the inverter will allow you to verify its efficiency. After transferring the data stored in the meter's memory to the Sonel PE6 software, it is possible to generate a report on the tests of the parameters of photovoltaic installations.

In order to automate the measurements, the Sonel MPI-540-PV meter has been additionally enriched with the function of testing residual current devices in Auto mode. The device also has pre-programmed measurement sequences by the manufacturer (so-called self-tests), which can be expanded with your own sequences if necessary. The possibilities and functionality of the meter will be additionally increased by a properly selected additional accessory, e.g. in the form of the AutoISO-1000C adapter, which enables automatic measurements of the insulation resistance of 3-, 4- and 5-core cables.

      • THD for current and voltage.
    • The  MPI-540-PV instrument can be used to perform all acceptance measurements of electrical installations in accordance with the applicable regulations:
      • fault loop impedance (also in circuits with RCDs),
      • RCD parameters,
      • insulation resistance,
      • earthing resistance (4 measurement methods + soil resistivity measurement),
      • continuity of protective and equipotential bonding,
      • illuminance,
      • phase sequence test,
      • motor rotation direction test.

    Installation safety check

Thanks to the device, you can control domestic and industrial electrical installations in terms of safety. Measurements can be easily automated by:

    • testing of RCDs in Auto mode,
    • self-tests - i.e. freely configurable measurement sequences,
    • using the AutoISO-1000C adapter to test the insulation resistance of 3-, 4- and 5-core cables.

    Photovoltaics under supervision

The MPI-540-PV is an extremely universal meter, designed in particular for testing photovoltaic installations. With the device, we will perform a complete set of tests on the DC and AC side - in accordance with the guidelines of PN-EN 62446. By measuring the parameters related to the photovoltaic installation, the device will automatically convert them to the STC (Standard Test Conditions) reference conditions. Measurements of voltages, currents and power on the AC and DC sides of the inverter will allow you to verify its efficiency. Saving the results in the memory of the meter will allow you to report on the tests carried out in the Sonel Pomiary Elektryczne software.

    Comprehensive analysis of network parameters

The built-in three-phase recorder allows you to observe the current state of the network and record its parameters, such as voltage, current, powers, harmonics, THD. The meter enables the reading of selected quantities and displaying their graphic presentation on the screen in real time. The parameters are measured independently of the registration saved on the memory card. The device can present:

    • graphs of voltage and current waveforms (oscilloscope),
    • graphs of voltage and current over time,
    • phasor diagram,
    • measurements of many parameters in tabular form,
    • graph of harmonics in current and voltage.

    Easy to read

The device is equipped with a 7 ”color LCD touch screen with a resolution of 800x480 pixels. This guarantees ease of use and easy reading of parameters and time waveforms. The large screen means more information is available when using the meter. The interface is readable in all conditions - also thanks to the appropriate size of displayed symbols. The included stylus also allows you to work with dielectric gloves.

    Built-in help system

The device has built-in help screens with measurement diagrams. Thanks to this, you can easily and quickly check how to connect a given system depending on the type of measurement being made.

    Increased resistance to environmental conditions

The MPI-540-PV meter  will perfectly cope with difficult environmental conditions. Protection against the ingress of dust and water is ensured by a unique housing with IP51 tightness level. It is resistant to mechanical damage, and the special design allows you to easily protect the touch display by sliding the cover of the meter. In addition to the fact that it protects against damage, it also allows you to conveniently carry and use the device in various positions.

    Communication and software

The advantage of the device is the multitude of communication interfaces and cooperation with external software. Measurement data can be transferred to a computer via a USB port, a removable SD memory card or via wireless communication (Bluetooth *, Wi-Fi). In order to generate a report on tests in the field of electric shock protection, use the Sonel Pomiary Elektryczne software. Saving downloaded resources to the simplest formats and printing is provided by Sonel Reader . The specialist Sonel Analysis software is used to read and analyze data from the recorder .
